Absolutely Fabulous: Heres how much Edina and Saffys home in West London would be worth in 202

Publish date: 2024-05-23

First airing in the early 1990s and returning for various specials and sporadic new seasons until 2012, Absolutely Fabulous built up a huge fan base.

Ab Fab, as fans called it, showed the hilarious antics of hard-living Edina and Patsy, played by Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley respectively.

The pair drink, take drugs and chase new fads as they swanned around the capital trying to relive their glory days.

But London is always changing and the city Edina and Patsy grew up in wasn't the same in the 90s and is almost unrecognisable in 2020.

One of the biggest changes has been the property boom.

Edina lived in a swish West London home with her sensible yet cynical daughter Saffy who has the unenviable role of keeping her mum on the straight and narrow.

How much would Edina's and Saffy's flat be worth today?

For a lady as glam as Edina you'd expect a house to match and the three-floor property that's shown certainly fits the bill.

Although Edina claims it's in the "rich heartland of Holland Park", a journalist interviewing her for Hello! magazine reckons its a bit closer to Shepherd's Bush.

With Ed's habit of exaggerating it's probably a bit further away from the park than she'd have us think.

In the Season 2 episode 'Birth', Saffy tells the fire department the address is 34 Claremont Avenue, W11 4BX.

Although the road name is fictional, the postcode is real and puts their home more towards Latimer Road and in the shadow of Grenfell Tower.

It's still only 500 metres from Holland Park station so Edina's claim of living in its 'rich heartland' isn't too far-fetched.

In that area there are some three-story period houses worthy of the pair's claim to the good life.

According to analysis from RightMove : "The majority of sales around W11 4BX during the last year were terraced properties, selling for an average price of £2,938,750."

A fair whack for even the wealthiest Londoners and a price that Edina has no need to feel ashamed of.
