Adam Lambert releases EP 'Velvet: Side A'

Publish date: 2024-05-19

All aboard the funk train! Adam Lambert has unveiled side A of his highly anticipated new EP, Velvet.

Made up of six tracks, with Adam co-writing each one, we are taken on a soul drenched journey which embodies a 70’s groove. We were previously treated to ‘Superpower’ a few weeks ago, however, the EP also includes ‘Stranger You Are’, ‘Closer to You’, ‘Overglow’, ‘Loverboy’ and ‘Ready to Run’.

Marking his first body of work since the 2015 album The Original High, Velvet sees Adam channel some of his biggest musical influences to create a cohesive EP which truly reflects him as an artist. Our only complaint is that six tracks just isn’t enough, and we’re already craving more from Velvet’s side B!

Speaking about the EP, Adam said: “I’ve followed my instincts and intuition more than ever with Velvet, leaning into truly musical influences from the 70s, early 80s and contemporary pop. It honors what made me want to be a musician in the first place.”

Whilst Adam has been busy working on his own solo material, he has also been touring the world with Queen. Having just completed a huge sold out North American tour, the band performed at Global Citizen Festival over the weekend.

The band have also just a announced a huge UK and European tour which will take place in spring/summer 2020. The tour includes five nights at London’s O2 Arena and two nights at Manchester Arena. Click here for a full list of dates and remaining tickets.

Velvet is available to download and stream now.
