Archana graduated with a Bachelor of Journalism and Mass Communication degree from IIMT University, Meerut.
Archana got her first main role with the character of Salma in Haseena Parkar in 2017.
In November 2021, Archana joined the Indian National Congress.
During the 2022 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly election, Archana was given a ticket from Hastinapur (Assembly constituency).

One of the earliest beauty pageants that Archana took part in was Miss Uttar Pradesh 2014. Later, in 2018, she took part in the Miss Bikini India content and won after which she went on to compete in Miss Cosmos World 2018 and won the subtitle of Most Talent 2018.
During the 2022 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly election, Archana received only 1,519 votes whereas the winning candidate (a BJP candidate Dinesh) from Hastinapur, UP had received 1,07,587 votes.
In September 2022, Archana Gautam alleged that Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams officials had asked her to pay a bribe for ‘darshan’ at the temple. She shared a Twitter video of the same in which she was seen crying and shouting.
In 2022, Archana was seen in the reality television game show Bigg Boss season 16. She was among the 5 finalists on the show which finished on February 12, 2023.
