Publish date: 2024-05-31

UPSAHL and PVRIS dominated the Sinclair in Cambridge, Massachusetts, for another sold-out show.

Packed from front to back, UPSAHL opened the show with high energy and pure gratitude to be performing in front of dedicated music fans who traveled from all over the country to be there. Her performance of her massively successful single, ‘Drugs,’ had attendees screaming out the lyrics at the top of their lungs and desperate to add the track to a playlist if they had not yet heard it before. UPSAHL allowed the audience to get to know her through her lyrics, commentary and memorable stage presence.

The rising indie pop star did not seem like an opener, she seemed more like a headliner. She knew exactly how to get the crowd ready for PVRIS’ performance while still focusing on her own music and connecting with the crowd at the same time. Her relatable lyrics and stories told through her music allowed fans to sympathize with her feelings and experiences regarding a plethora of subjects. In addition to the singer’s effortless connection to listeners, UPSAHL’s powerful vocals also undeniably captivated audience members in Boston.

If attendees at The Sinclair were not aware of UPSAHL’s already successful music and career, as well as her iconic stage presence, they definitely did not leave without knowing her name. She was able to effortlessly win over an audience within minutes and gain countless new fans by the end of her set. The ‘Smile For The Camera’ singer made sure to bring her A-game to Boston and if attendees did not make it in time for her set, they undeniably missed out.

Following UPSAHL’s performance, fans had just enough time to recharge their energy and mentally prepare for PVRIS to take over the venue next. With The Sinclar beyond crowded and full of die-hard fans, the night undeniably began as soon as attendees were let inside. And if people thought that they saw the crowd’s highest energy levels before PVRIS got on stage, they were wrong.

As soon as the band began playing ‘Mirrors,’ the dynamic of the audience shifted like a rollercoaster beginning to start and then reaching its climax all at once. Fans shook The Sinclair as they powerfully jumped to each track’s beat and danced together as one group. The crowd was able to come together as supporters of music and, more specifically, a community of people who love PVRIS. The feeling of love and support filled the venue and the crowd felt it.

Through the group’s uniquely humble performance, with low-lighting and flawless transitions in between tracks, fans were able to enjoy an intimate show that felt beyond nostalgic and special. If they wanted to, PVRIS’ fanbase seems to be able to sell out this venue for a full week. Their supporters are dedicated and showed up for them in a city that is quite important to them for all of the right reasons. Between the group’s energy, impressive on-stage talent and the fan to artist connection portrayed through their performance, PVRIS made sure that this show was memorable in the most personal way possible.
