Fire crews had to pull a woman out of a first floor window after she injured herself during a pilates class in Sydney’s north.

Emergency services were called to a pilates studio on the Pacific Highway at Lindfield just after 10am on Tuesday after a woman in her 60s had fallen off a pilates reformer and injured her ribs.

“Due to the narrowness of the stairwell and the painful nature of the injury, fire crews removed the patient through a first floor window via a ladder platform truck,” Fire and Rescue NSW said in a statement.

Police and paramedics were also called to the scene.

A NSW Ambulance spokesman said the woman had landed on the corner of the pilates machine and hit her ribs.

Six crews were sent to the studio.

The woman was moved to a waiting ambulance before being taken to Royal North Shore Hospital in a stable condition.
