Meghan King Edmonds Opens Up About Sons Horrible Brain Injury
Worrisome news for the reality TV star! Meghan King Edmonds took to social media to reveal that one of her 13 month old twins, Hart has been diagnosed with a brain injury and that it’s sadly irreversible! As if that was not bad enough, this happens about a week after learning that her husband had cheated on her!
Meghan posted on her blog about the devastating condition her son has.
Apparently, the chronic disease has caused him an irreversible brain injury.
The official diagnosis is Periventricular Leukomalacia, also known as PVL.
In the blog post, the worried mother explained how that affects both her baby and the whole family.
‘Hart has minor Periventricular Leukomalacia on both sides of his brain (namely the white matter), but more so on his right. The doctor said that this explains all my concerns: the rigidity in his muscles, the delayed physical milestones, lack of fluidity with arm and leg movement, the stiffness in his joints, the weakness in the lower back, the somewhat favored use of his right side,’ she wrote.
Meghan went on to detail that ‘She told me that this mainly occurs in premies and since he was not a premie (was born at 37 weeks gestation) she believes that this damage occurred ‘a couple of months before he was born.’ She explained that he’s at risk of being diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy and will be monitored.’
It’s been months since the mother noticed the developmental delays and unusual behavior of her baby and now, he was finally diagnosed.
For the longest time however, all medical specialists would assure her there was nothing to be worried about.
